HOW TO PREPARE FOR YOUR TATTOO APPOINTMENT
Protect your skin from sun damage, even more so than you normally would. Try to keep forthcoming tattoo sites covered with clothing or sunscreen. This is very important because any areas that are suffering from sunburn or damage, cannot be tattooed on.
Keep your skin supple and soft for the tattoo. We recommend using Palmers Cocoa Butter (this is also our recommendation for aftercare moisturiser) for several days – but preferably weeks – before your appointment.
Keep the tattoo site gently exfoliated ahead of your appointment and remove any fake tan in the week before your booking. Dry and flaky skin doesn’t take ink as well as properly hydrated skin – and the healing process isn’t as clean or effective – so make sure you’re well prepared!
Ensure you’ve had a good meal on the day, 1 or 2 hours ahead of your appointment. Make sure you’re also drinking plenty of water. Eating beforehand and maintaining hydration will make for a more pleasant tattoo experience. This is particularly true if this is your first tattoo and aren’t entirely sure how your body might respond to the experience
Making sure you follow these simple steps will ensure that your tattoo site doesn’t dry out – and that your body is well prepared – to accept it’s new tattoo.
Whilst there is a toilet at the studio which can be used, we do ask that you use your own toilet beforehand, as the waste pipes are delicate and cannot accommodate solids
Any further questions, please contact your artist ahead of your appointment.
Thank you,
